This week......

This week is another busy week. Monday I have on paper due for my American Political Systems class, I also have Small Group with Intervarsity. Tuesday i have no classes but I have lots of hw, and laundry to do. on tuesday at 5:30 in volunteering at the NC democratic party office, im going to be making phone calls making sure that people vote this November. Wednesday I have a QCR due in history in the 20th century, and I have a paper due in American Political Systems class, its like our 6th paper in the past 3 weeks. Also, Wednesdays is Movie Night with all my friends, i dont know what we are seeing yet.  Thursday I have FYE and we have our Crash and Half the Sky Reflections due, and we have to research a Meredith Tradition, mine is the Beehive. at 7pm on thursday I have Intervarsity Large Group at NC State, which im so excited to see everyone. Friday I have a Math test. I work 1-8PM on Saturday, then probably going out afterwards. So what a busy week I have in store for me.

Weekend is here!!!!

So this weekend is very busy. Tonight Im going to see the play at Meredith with my Big Sis Allison and some of her friends, my suitemate Laura, her grandparents are coming too. Then after that we might go out afterwards, maybe a club. Tmrw I work from 12-9:30, which is a very long shift, but that means a very large paycheck YAY. Then Im going to do some homework, and my crash reflection, and my inequality paper for govn't. Sunday is the day for all that, and hopefully some relaxing too. My stepbrother is getting married this saturday, but because I work, and it was a short notice wedding like 5 days before, im not going makes me sad a little, but its ok. So theirs my weekend filled with lots to do. Have a great weekend everyone...

In FYE today, we went to the Royal Bean and talked about the movie Crash that we had to watch for class. We also had a guest speaker Tomecca Sloan, she talked about the movie and first impressions of others that we meet. So her last and final question for us today was; name a time in your life when you recognized that you we're different. So the time in my life that I knew I was different from others was when I started having extreme headaches for long periods of time. So I went to the doctor and they diagonsed me with Tension Headaches. So why did this make me different, well now I have to watch what I eat and make sure I dont eat MSG or Aspartame, which is really hard because most foods have those ingredients in them. So when Im with friends, I cant ate alot of fast food, or fake sugars, which is hard when your teenager. Also including my new food restrictions I had to learn how to manage stress, and rest when needed. Which sucks when you want to go out and hang out with some friends but I have a headache which I need to rest. Its really hard, especially when it happens during your last years of high school. So during that year I realized that I was different.

What a week....

So this week is filled with lots to do. Monday, we had freshman connection, and Nicholas Kristof's speech on Half the Sky, today i had no classes but lots of hw and laundry o go. Tmrw, is Fall Fest and movie night, thursday is Intervarsity Large group at NC State. Friday im going to see the play then maybe go out afterwards. Satuday i work from noon to 9:30.and finally sunday is a day to relax. wht a busy week i have.

Half the Sky tmrw...

So tmrw, Nicholas Kristof is coming to Meredith. He and his wife wrote our summer reading book Half the Sky, Im so excited about him coming to Meredith because the book really opened my eyes on issues I know about but never really talked about.  Its at 7pm, and before the speaking my group is meeting in the dinning hall for dinner together and to celebrate our SA Rebecca's birthday.... So everyone come tmrw at 7pm to hear Nicholas...

Intervarsity New Student Retreat this weekend..

So this weekend me, laura and damaris and a bunch of other girls from Meredith, and girls and boys from NC State are going on a new student retreat with intervarsity. Im so excited to go and meet new people and make some new friends. So we leave for our retreat at 4:30 at the main fountain at Meredith, and we drive to NC State to pick up the rest of our new friends and then we are driving to Lake Gaston for the weekend. If you cant tell Im super excited, and its going to be so much fun.

Maury, maury, maury...

So everyday at 5PM, me, my roomie Julie, and my suitemate Laura and sometimes Damaris and Cristina watch the Maury Show. Its our tradition, we watch Maury from 5 to 6, then at 6 we eat dinner.  The Maury Show is a great stress reliever, plus it makes you laugh, and on occassion you actually learn something. like about a week ago we all learned that you can have fatrenal twins from two different daddy's. Its very rare and it makes the mom look really sluty lol. So we watch more and destress from our busy school day. So if anyone ever wants to watch Maury with us, im in poteat 316. Maury only comes on Monday-Friday, and we watch it every day.

What a weekend.....

So this weekend i went to work on Saturday from 9AM-3PM. when I arrived back at Meredith at around 3:15, me and my amazing suitemate took a road trip to Clemson. We left at like 4 and arrived in Clemson at 8. So the reason for this trip was to visit some of Laura's friends, and have fun. and fun we did have..... then on Sunday we left to return to Meredith. We weren't at clemson for 24 hours. but it was worth it, except I left my cell phone charger there and now I have to take a target run to get one today.

Its the weekend again.

So this weekend, im finally going to work. Which I am really excited about because I haven't worked in a month, so Im really going to like the paycheck. So, I work Saturday, from 9AM-3PM. When I get out of work, Im coming back to Meredith only to leave again for Clemson... Me and my amazing suitemate Laura are going on a road trip to visit her friends at Clemson. Which we are really excited about. Now next weekend, Me, Laura and Damaris are on the Intervarsity New Student retreat @ Lake Gaston. So these next two weekends are going to be great. I Love Sleep

So today I learned that it is important to get 7.5-8 hours of sleep a day. I try to get that every night,by going to bed early. That can help but Im also on some migrane medicine that I take at bedtime and it helps be sleep through the night, so Im kind of biased on the subject. But the nights I dont get enough sleep, then Im very cranky, and hard to get along with. the 60 minutes interveiw told me that people with little sleep are in the same boat with someone under the influence of alcohol, when it comes to driving and that frightens me. I love sleep, and I know Im getting the recomended hours of sleep, plus I take naps every now and then. So get your sleep, and make a place a better world to live in.

My third place

My third place would have to be the NC State Capital. I have visited it once in elementary school, for a class field trip, and I loved it. But the reason for me wanting to visit it while in college is that I plan to study Political Science, and work for the government and even the NC or USA Capital. So this semester I plan on visiting it again, and see if there is any internships or maybe even a job that I might be able to do.

Home for the Holiday.

I know its Christmas yet, but I'm for the Labor Day holiday. I love being back home and sleeping in my bed that doesn't rock, and taking a shower in a big shower than my little square of a shower back at Meredith, and not having to go down to the dinning hall instead I can just walk down my stairs and into the kitchen. I also love being home with my family and amazing boyfriend. I'm not to happy about the 3 hour car ride, but its great to be home.
